Sergey Karjakin

Sergey Alexandrovich Karjakin is a Russian chess grandmaster. He was born on January 12, 1990 in Simferopol, Ukraine, and learned to play chess at a young age. Karjakin became a grandmaster in 2003, at the age of 13, making him the youngest grandmaster in the history of chess at the time.

Throughout his career, Karjakin has had a number of notable achievements. He has won the Russian Chess Championship twice and has competed in several championships. In 2016, Karjakin faced off against Magnus Carlsen in the World Chess Championship match. The match was held in New York City and consisted of 12 games, with the winner being the first player to score 6.5 points. Despite putting up a strong fight, Karjakin ultimately lost to Carlsen, with a final score of 8.5-6.5.

In addition to his success as a chess player, Karjakin has also served as a chess coach and commentator. He is currently ranked as one of the top chess players in the world. Karjakin's achievements and his participation in the World Chess Championship match against Carlsen have solidified his place in the world of chess.
